Hi visibility leaders were designed because of my ageing eye sight. They come in a solid colour which I tend to stripe with a black marker making any bites much more visible, I then treat them with a floatant. When casting I overpower the cast so that I get a small bounce back giving a snake pattern in the floating upstream leader.

All my leaders are tied with thread as this material is my preference.

Standard leaders average around 7ft.

Tenkara leaders came about after buying a rod from the USA. These rods are between 12 – 13ft and use a furled leader measuring around 10.5ft, Longer ones can be tied if requested. Never heard of “Tenkara” fishing? Check out the links page above. I believe the “Tenkara” style of fishing will take off in the UK over the next few years.
